Jaarbeurs Utrecht has great plans for the future.
At the Jaarbeurs premises, the coming years, among other things a hotel with 250 beds and a multiplex cinema with 15 theatres will be build. Holland Casino will move to a better spot. Furthermore, it is the intention to give the city theatre at the Jaarbeurs complex a large annex (1500 chairs), which during the day can be used as a conference centre. Halls 2,3,4, and 5 will be replaced by a completely new hall without any columns, and with a floor area of some 25,000 square metres. There will also be a food court with several restaurants and bars. Finally, there are plans for the development of a residential area, and for business and education accommodations.
The building plans at the Jaarbeurs premises are part of the plans for the renovation of the station area in the city centre of Utrecht. These plans include among other things: a new public transport terminal for high-quality public transport, the renovation of the “Hoog Catharijne” shopping mall, and the improvement of public space.
